Singapore My Home - Our People, Our Home is a nationwide photography competition which provides an opportunity for all to share through their lenses what Singapore means to them.
The theme for Singapore, My Home 2014 is “Our People, Our Home”. The submission of photographs aims to encourage Singaporeans both locally and overseas to come together as Singaporeans to share their stories from their past, present and even what they inspire for the future. There is a saying that 'a picture paints a thousand words', therefore this competition hopes to promote the vision of an inclusive and gracious society, to reinforce commitment and identity as Singaporeans. Singapore is a shared home for all Singaporeans from all walks of life and where our future lies.
Lets reflect on what Singapore means to us and to express our reflections through the medium of photography.
About “Our People, Our Home”
Our people are diverse, yet we have shown in many ways that there is tenacity, and a lot of heart and soul among us. Every little thing adds up. Singapore is where we are today because of its community of individual Singaporeans who have time and again held their own and created the extraordinary. We are what makes Singapore today and will be tomorrow, and this is worth celebrating.
This is the premise of our theme for NDP 2014 – Our People, Our Home. This year, we celebrate… us, ordinary people who can do the extraordinary when we come together as one community, one people.
Let’s boldly celebrate together how far we’ve come as a nation and our achievements, which put this Little Red Dot on the world map. Let’s also remember that we have always been here for one another. And each one of us can come onboard to co-create our celebration and own a part of the NDP 2014 experience. After all, Singapore is home, because of you and me.
For NDP 2014, we can reflect and express what National Day, and more importantly, what being Singaporean means to us.
So, through your lens, show us Our People, Our Home. Shoot away!
